Obituary
Mr. Beard was born August 15, 1937 in Huntsville, Alabama and passed away July 28, 2014 in Houston, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known as a well renowned gunsmith, when not constructing the beauty of his guns, he found joy in shooting and hunting with his family and friends. Most people knew Herman as an avid hunter either by the stories they were told or they were present to live the exotic lifestyle. As for his family they not only knew him for his fascination with guns but, they mainly knew him for his kind hearted ways and his ability to turn any situation from bad to good. As a grandfather he was looked up to as a role model to all bearing the gifts of (fantasized HERSHEY bars, donuts and Klondike bars) great knowledge and passing down his fascination with guns so that the tradition may live on. He is preceded in death by his father, Herman I. Beard; mother, Doris L. Burton-Beard; and sister, Barbara Ann Vidal.
Herman is survived by his wife, Jonel Pierce Beard; brother, Jerry W. Beard and wife Doris; sister, Lynda Callaway and husband Sonny; children, Terri, Lance, Jason, Trudy, Lisa, and Paul Sr.; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Lance Beard, Blake Beard, Jason Beard, Austin Beard, Corey Bittick, David Bittick, Paul Thompson Sr., Paul Thompson Jr., Patrick Thompson, Nicholas Thompson.
