Obituary

Funeral services for Hershel Eugene Phillips Sr., 81, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Roy Askins officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Phillips was born November 23, 1932 in Cedar Glades, Arkansas to parents, Marion Z. Phillips and Mattie E. (Caldwell) Phillips, and passed away November 2, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He worked as a counselor for Aldine ISD and Big Sandy ISD during his lifetime. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gene Phillips; and brother, Kermit.

He is survived by wife, Kathie Phillips of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Dannette Phillips; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roscoe and Doris, Sherman and Mildred, Clem and Clyda, and Ottie and Shirley; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Long; and numerous other relatives and friends.
