Obituary
Funeral services for Hershell Edward Massingill, 75, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Wayne Bickley officiating. Military honors provided by VFW Post#8568. Interment will follow in the Bluff Creek Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Massingill was born January 5, 1940 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to parents, Walter Edward Massingill and Walsie Agnes (Day) Massingill, and passed away January 12, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Henrietta Massengill.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joanne Massingill of Livingston, Texas; sons, William Edward Massingill and Walter Lee Massingill both of Odessa, Texas; daughter, Dawn Lynnett Walls and husband, David of London, England; grandchildren, Andrew Lee Walls, Brook Ann Walls, Caitlyn Elaine Walls; brother, Orby and wife, Janet Massengill of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister, Juanita Idol of Colonial Heights, Virginia; along with numerous other cousins, relatives and friends.
