Hilda May Bearden-Helms, affectionately known as "Granny", age 86, passed away on April 16th 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by parents Ercel Bearden and Artie Bearden; husband, Doyle E. Helms; daughters, Jennefer Helms and Karen Helms; brothers and sisters; and many loving caregivers.

Hilda is survived by her granddaughters Ivy Helms and Eutha Oliver; great granddaughter Lauren Helms; sister Shirley Bridges and husband Emery Bridges; many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Hilda was born on September 9, 1939 in Los Fresnos, TX, but spent the majority of her life in Livingston Tx with her husband. She attended Los Fresnos high school graduating second in her class. Later, she attended college and became a warranty clerk serving at many large dealerships across east Tx and for a short time worked independently with her husband traveling. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, integrity, and dedication.

More than anything, Hilda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement. No matter what challenges they faced, she was always there.

In her free time, Hilda enjoyed sewing, reading, and gardening. She was always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others. She was an active member of her community, and loved spending time with her church family. She treated anyone she met as an equal and you felt a love from her that couldn't be forgotten.

Granny will truly be missed by all who knew her. A grandmother's love is never forgotten, it stays with us forever.
