He proudly served his country in the United States Army, continuing a strong family tradition of military service. His dedication, work ethic, and determination were qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time outdoors. In his younger years, he loved the beach, and later in life he found joy in tending his garden, sitting on the front porch of his home, and sharing coffee and conversation with friends and family.

Throughout his life, Homer experienced many seasons, challenges, and changes. Anyone who knew him knew he was independent and determined. He did things his way and was not easily persuaded otherwise.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the memories he leaves behind the lessons he taught, and the moments they shared throughout the years.
