Obituary
Funeral services for Horace Lavell Yates, 73, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 beginning at 10:00 am until service begins in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.
Mr. Yates was born May 1, 1941 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to parents, Melvin Horace Yates and Mary Louise (Ward) Yates, and passed away March 29, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father; wife, Joann Yates; sister, Loretta Stringfellow; and 2 step-sons.
He is survived by his sons, Horace "Scooter" Yates and Stephen Yates; daughter, Ann Yates Smith; mother, Mary Lillis; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Elaine Yates; 2 step-sons; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
