Howard LaRoe Battise

Funeral services for Howard LaRoe Battise, 69, of Lufkin, Texas will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., just prior to the service, at the Cochran Funeral Home.

Howard was born September 11, 1956, in Livingston, Texas and passed away July 15, 2026, in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Battise; brother, Jeff Rhoads; grandfather, Hollis Battise; grandmothers, Elvina Battise and Doris Battise; aunts, Gussie Nell Battise and Marilyn Battise; and uncle, James Battise.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel Kitchen and Jonathan, Dr. Britni Battise-Flores and Tre`; son and daughter-in-law, Niko Battise and Kaylee; and grandchildren, Cason Battise, J.J. Kitchen, Brielle Flores and Brynleigh Flores; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Roby Williams, Ricky Sylestine, Ricky Mullins, Jason Shumaker, Chock Taylor, and Robert McEntire.

Honorary Pallbearer: James “Griff” Griffith.
