Howard Roscoe Bratton, was born on January 7, 1920 to Marica Robbins Bratton and Theodore Ambrose Bratton in Greenbriar, Arkansas. He went to be with his Lord on November 30, 2013 in Point Blank, Texas at the age of 93.
Howard, a 1948 graduate of Arkansas State Teacher's College in Conway, Arkansas, spent most of his professional life as a Chemical and Industrial Engineer. After retiring from engineering, Howard spent his time running his A/C Repair business, building the Point Blank house, and becoming a published author of several novels. Howard served his country in the Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant teaching aircraft mechanics during WWII (1941-1945).
Howard married the love of his life, Lillian (Brazil) Bratton on December 26, 1941 and raised five amazing children together. Howard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lillian; children Corliss (Bratton) Rogers, Keith Bratton and his wife Thea, Douglas Bratton, Dale Bratton and his wife Royleene, and Phillip Bratton and his wife Lynn; his grandchildren Debra Willis, Gary Lee Swearengin and his fiancé Caroline, Jennifer (Bratton) Murray and her husband James, Daniel Bratton and his fiancé Candy, Matthew Bratton, and Ryan Bratton and his wife Caitlin.
Howard touched the lives of all he met and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on December 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska with Rev. Mariann Rayne officiating. Interment will follow at Foster Cemetery in Point Blank, Texas.
