Huey Watson Nix Jr. age 73 of Livingston passed away Saturday December 12, 2009 in Houston. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 16, 2009 at 2:00PM at the First United Pentecostal Church in Livingston with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Peebles Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday December 15, 2009 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home.

Huey was born October 4, 1936 in Seabrook, to parents Huey Watson Nix and Edna Mae Johnson. He married his wife of 53 years Alice Lucille Smith on August 3, 1956 in Houston, Texas. Huey was a active member of his church First Pentecostal Church of Livingston were he was a member for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Huey Watson & Edna Mae ""Johnson"" Nix, and brother George Wesley Nix.

Huey is survived by his wife Alice Lucille Nix of Livingston, daughters Karla Hodges of Livingston, Denise Baskin and husband Greg of Livingston, Sandra Epley and husband Steve of Livingston, grandchildren Nicholas Baskin, Todd & Stacie Baskin, Derek & Zuni Baskin, Brook & Marcos Rodriguez, and Blake Hodges, great grandchildren Auda Faye Baskin and Mia Rodriquez. He is also survived by his brother Rev. Robert Nix and wife Sue of Lima, Peru, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nicholas Baskin, Todd Baskin, Derek Baskin, Blake Hodges, Keith Nix, Marcos Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be James Milford, Kevin Nix, Kyle Nix, Kelley Nix, Steve Epley, Greg Baskin, David Dacke, and Jimmy Smith.
