Funeral services for Idahlia Brown Miller "Boots", 87, of Porter, Texas will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Santa Fe, Texas. Visitation will be held on the day of service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
Idahlia was born December 31, 1936 in Naples, Texas in her family home, to William Brown and Nellie Mae (Hunt) Brown. She was the youngest of 5 children. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Claude Brown, Lavinia Manes, Elvis Brown, and Virginia Crow; and her beloved husband of 54 years, Lloyd Miller.
She is survived by her niece, Paula Canton and husband Nick of Santa Fe, Texas; sister-in-law, Doris Cooper of Porter, Texas; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was known by all as "Boots," a nickname given to her by her dad when she was a young girl, for her love of a pair of boots given to her by her parents.
Boots was a 1955 graduate of Santa Fe High School. She retired form Galleria Bank in Houston before she and Lloyd moved to their home by the lake in Onalaska, Texas, where they lived for over 30 years. They loved living there and made many cherished friends in the community.
Lloyd and Boots had a few faithful dogs in their life together, including her surviving shih tzu, Annie, who she got to love for 16 1/2 years. Annie now lives in Porter, Texas.
Lloyd and Boots were lifelong members of the Woodman Group. The enjoyed their yearly visits to the Woodman camp outs and visitation with fellow members using their RV. They also had many vacations in their RV.
The family would like to give thanks to Willow Personal Homecare of Cleveland, Texas for the love and care Boots received from them. Marilyn and Christy did an awesome job with her care over the past year. They would also like to thank the members of Altus Hospice Care for the love and care they showed her as well.
