Isaac Paul Wangler was born on November 12, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas and he tragically passed away on June 9, 2026 in his residence in Livingston, Texas.
Preceded in death by his grandmother Emily Vales, Isaac is survived by his mother, Natalie Vales/Wangler, his father Kurt Wangler, and his twin sister Angie Wangler. Numerous extended family members and close friends also mourn his untimely passing.
While June 9, 2026 was just an ordinary Tuesday for many people, for those of us who knew and loved Isaac, it was a day that forever changed our lives, because we knew that the world lost a beautiful soul. We only had him for twenty years, and those years flew by much too fast. Twenty years of love and laughter. Twenty years of good times and bad times, of ups and downs, and all the in-betweens of every day life. And even though his life was cut much too short, all the things that made him 'Isaac' will live on in our hearts and our memories, starting with how he got his name, long before he was even born.
'The laughter of God.' That's what the name 'Isaac' means. Isn't that beautiful? Oh, to be named something so beautifully profound! It was a reminder to his mother that he was a gift; a wonderful, miraculous gift to be cherished forever.
"I always knew that I wanted a child of my own someday, and as soon as I learned that the name Isaac means 'Laughter of God' l, I knew that's what his name had to be. And boy, did he embody that name!" said Isaac's mother. "He was a bright light in this world, and he was so funny! He had the biggest heart, and he always made you laugh and smile." ~ Natalie
"So many memories, countless memories. How do I pick which ones to write?" Angie, Isaac's twin sister, struggled to shape her pain into words that others would understand. "Is it the very first memory I have of him? Of him helping me out of the crib? Or is it the last time we were together in person, when we were at the lake with the kiddos? Or the time we went to Galveston and then drove all the way to Tomball, just to get Korean corndogs? There just isn't enough time and there's not enough paper to write all that Isaac was to me. But what I can say is that my twin never failed to light up a room and make everyone smile." ~ Angie
Isaac had a deep love for God and belief in scripture, and he highlighted many verses that held special meaning to him in his Bible, and he saved them on his phone for future reference.
He had a gentle kindness in him that only those closest to him got to see, and he was always so good with kids. Gentle, kind, and patient, indicating the type of father he would have been, had he been given the chance. Finding beauty in things that were often overlooked by others came naturally to him, and he took hundreds of incredible photos, particularly of nature scenes.
Photos of breathtaking sunsets, majestic trees, shy but curious animals, and even cleverly camouflaged bugs... all in beautiful and stunning detail Isaac loved his friends and family intensely, and he was deeply loyal. Always a protector, he looked out for the people he loved, and he never failed to be there for a friend when they needed him. His bright soul lit up the world, shining like a beacon in the blackest of nights.
That was the beauty of Isaac Paul Wangler, and the nights will forever be just a little bit darker without him. He will be greatly missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
