Isadora Strauss Thomas, age 101 of Spring, Texas passed away on September 9, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She was born on January 3, 1912 in Leggett, Texas to parents Walter and Minnie Isadora (DeShazo) Parker.
Isadora loved people and was a proud member of the Wisteria Chapter of the Eastern Star in Beaumont, Texas. She had received her 75 year pin. She was also a member of the St. Paul' Methodist Church in Beaumont. One of the happiest times of her life was when she was employed at the Lamar University Bookstore.
Isadora is preceded in death by her father, Walter Parker of Leggett; mother, Minnie Parker of Leggett; brother, Herbert Parker of Beaumont; brother, Howard Parker of Houston; sister Maurie Votaw of Beaumont; sister, Caroline Hickman of Leggett; sister, Vivian Marshall of Houston; son, Scott Parker Thomas of Beaumont; husband, Ryman Scott Thomas of Beaumont; son-in-law, Clifton Kitchens of Spring. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kitchens of Spring; grandson, Clifton Bradley Kitchens of Conroe; daughter-in-law, Britanye Kitchens of Conroe; nephew, John B. Marshall of Conroe; niece, Quanita Corbin of Beaumont; niece, Virginia Johnston of Beaumont; along with numerous other relatives and a host of loving friends.
Services for Isadora Thomas will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Septemeber 12, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. She will have Eastern Star honors. Pastor Wineva Hankamer will be officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas.
