James Richard Nix, Jr. ""J.R."", age 55, of Livingston, passed away on June 7, 2013, in Livingston. He was born on September 27, 1957, in Gilmer, Texas, to parents, James Richard Nix, Sr., and Zula Mae Richards.

He is survived by companion, Alicia Wooten, of Livingston; sons, Jessie James Nix, of Ohio, James Brandon Nix, of Kilgore, and Jody Wayne Nix, of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy Nix and Carolyn, of Mineola; nephews, D.J. Helpenstill, of San Antonio and James Lester Nix, of Gilmer; niece and husband, Angela Gordy and James; numerous great-nieces and nephews; life long friends, Gauldin Starr, of Avinger; best companion, Sharlie.

A memorial service for J.R. will be held Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 2:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston.
