Funeral services for James Edward Anderson Sr., 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Kevan Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Bluff Creek Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Anderson was born May 16, 1928, in Trinity, Texas to parents Jesse James Anderson and Viola Sarah (Mize) Anderson and passed away on May 2, 2017, in Livingston, Texas. James lived his entire life in the Livingston, Texas area where he met his wife Faye (Morris) Anderson in the Soda Community. James and Faye married April 18, 1947, and soon after welcomed their children son, James Anderson Jr. and daughter Sharon Anderson. James worked and owned several service stations in Livingston for over 30 years and went into the lawn care business. James was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. His love for the outdoors carried into gardening and raising livestock. James always had the best garden and prettiest yard. His love for his family always came first with a strong work ethic to always make sure they were provided for.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Viola Anderson, sister Ruby Anderson, daughter Sharon (Anderson) Woolley, and son-in-law Vernon Woolley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Faye Anderson of Livingston; sister, Rutha Edwards of Grapeland; son, James E. Anderson Jr and wife Sharon of Livingston; granddaughter, Mandy Anderson of Livingston; grandson Matt Anderson and wife Caitlin of Livingston; granddaughter, Lauren Harrison and husband Tres of Livingston; granddaughter Lee Ann Thomas and husband Ryan of Nacogdoches; Great-Grand Children, Hayden Griffin, Kathryn Griffin, Caroline Harrison, Jed Harrison, Mason Thomas, Megan Thomas, and Sawyer Anderson. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Anderson will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers: Matt Anderson, Ryan Thomas, Tres Harrison, Tommy Gene Clifton, Mason Thomas, Jed Harrison, Jimmie N. Morris, Ryan Morris, Travis Hoover.

Honorary Pallbearers: Hayden Griffin, Kenneth Yarbrough, Jimmie J. Morris, Bob Parker, Jim Buller, Bret Hoover, Cody Morris, Doug James.
