Funeral services for James Alton Antley, 84, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Elbert Kinard officiating. . Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Groveton, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service time.
James Alton Antley was born April 6, 1936 in Groveton, Texas to parents, Curtis James Antley and Lillie Venona (Rogers) Antley and passed away January 21, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. During his lifetime worked as an accountant for 8 years, a Master Police Officer for 34 years and also a security officer for the Livingston Independent School District. James is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R.L. Antley and Charlie Antley; son, Jamie Antley.
Mr. Antley is survived by his wife, Julian "Julie" (Avery) Antley of Livingston, Texas; brother, Crutis Antley and Debbie of Lufkin, Texas, sister and brother-in-law, Linda Lee and Bennie of Groveton, Texas, sisters, Nina Royle and Tommie, Nona and Shug Rhoden, all from Palastine, Texas; brother, Bobby Antley and Kathrine of Groveton, Texas; sister, Cathy Butler and Edward of Lufkin, Texas; brother, Donnie Antley and Nora of Nogalas, Texas; children, Cindy Serda of Humble, Texas, David Antley of Groveton, Texas, Tammy Robrecht and Mike of Livingston, Texas, Tresea Boike and Dan of Dayton, Texas, Tina and Tim Bullock of Jasper, Texas, Serina Seelye and Robert of Porter, Texas, Brandon Antley and Kelly of Fairfield, Texas, Jonathon Antley of Temple, Texas; step-children, Scott Spann of Livingston, Texas, Shay Sullins of Alvardo, Texas, David Schneider of Carthrage, Texas and Amanda Avery of Troy, Massachusetts; 29 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchildren along with and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Todd Gregory, Robert Seelye, Tim Bullock, James Butler, Miguel Soto and Mike Nettles.
