Funeral services for James Lawrence Baxter, Jr., age 87, of Livingston will be held Wednesday August 5, 2009 in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Moyers officiating and interment to follow in the Camp Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Spikes, Woody Dixon, Rickey Sills, Steven Sills, Jeff Warner, and Scott Warner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Vincent, Chris Warner, Tony Warner, Choyss W. Lowery, Wilber Morgan and Chuck Simecek.

He was born January 30, 1922 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of James Lawrence Baxter and Lurrel H. Brittain Baxter and passed away August 1, 2009 in Houston, Texas.

He is survived by Mayselle Baxter, wife of Livingston, Gary Harrison, son of Livingston, Rita Sills, sister of Pasadena, Texas, Virgal Baxter, brother of Riverside, California, grandchildren, Steven Sills, Stephanie Simecek, Shannon Simecek, Stacie Riski, Choyss Lowery and Jessica Thacker, great grandchildren, Brayden, Andrew, Brandi, Cayss, and Rivan Rae, great great grandchild, Kilea.
