James Dewie Berwick, 87 years old, went to join our Lord after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease on the afternoon of Monday, December 4, 2017. He was a long time resident of Humble, Tx. James leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Dean Berwick, and their 4 daughters and son in laws: Cindy and Leon VanMeter, Gaye and Rob Leonhard, Sharon and Louis Matthews, and Alicia and Gary Wise, his brother and sister in law Jimmy and Evadell Berwick, along with countless nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. James was among the first young men to be in the Air Force and held the rank of corporal in the Korean War as an MP and cook. After surviving the war, he went on to become a master machinist at Grey Tool Company - later known as Vetco Grey and Baker Hughes - for 40 years. He loved old westerns, camping with family and watching football. He is preceded in his journey with our Lord by his parents: Eli and Christine (Williams) Berwick, sisters: Ida Maude Wright, Earnestine Knight, and Charlene Simpson and brother: Virgil Berwick.
