James Laverl Bolton age 78 of Livingston passed away peacefully at his home Thursday February 18, 2010. Funeral services will be Monday February 22, 2010 at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Sandy Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be Sunday February 21, 2010 from 5:00PM until 10:00Pm also at Cochran Funeral Home.

James was born August 16, 1931 in Franklin to parents Nolie C. Bolton and Pearl Lee Smith Bolton. He proudly served our country from 1952 until 1954 in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughters Theresa Hill and Theresa Burks, brother Dell Bolton and sister Doris Lenola Taylor.

James is survived by wife Neva Jo Bolton of Livingston, daughter Regina Hill of Houston, son Gary Bolton of Houston, daughter Rosie Burnett and husband Roy of Livingston, daughter Jo Ann Timmons and husband Donny of Hitchcock, sons Anthony Vela and wife Nevie of Livingston, Paul Vela and wife Ida of Livingston, and Alan Vela of Pa.. He is also survived by his 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and his special grandson Shane Burnett.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sammy Joe Nelson, Shane Burnett, Richard King, Darrell King, Taylor King, Andre Lilley, Brett Fosie, and Colton Fosie.
