James Benjamin ""Ben"" Dixon, age 35 of Livingston, TX, passed away on March 17, 2012 in Humble, TX. He was born on May 5, 1976 in Tyler, TX to parents, Robert James and Sally Ann McGee Dixon. Ben was a graduate of Athens High School in 1994. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dallas Baptist University and was in Glowing Heart, a traveling ministry and singing team for DBU. He was youth minister at several churches including churches in Oklahoma and California. Ben also taught kindergarten in the La Vega ISD for two years.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtle and Jake McGee and grandfather, Elijah ""Dick"" Dixon. Ben is survived by his mother, Sally Dixon of Livingston; father & step-mother, Bob and Sharla Dixon of The Colony, TX; finance, Kasi O?ÇÖDonnell of San Antonio, TX; brother, Joel Dixon; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Casey Hans; grandmother, Grace Dixon; niece, Brianna Hans; three nephews, Joe Hans, Raymond Hans and Kody Keeling; aunts and uncles, Carol and Alan Tarrant, Don and Nita McGee, Frances & Bobby Smith, Mary and Louis McGee, Linda & Andrew Klemett, Richard & Lynn Dixon and Bill & Alisa Dixon; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Dogwood Baptist Church in Athens, TX. Stephen Bratton and Henry Loftin will conduct the services. Interment will follow the church service at Good Game Cemetery in Athens.
