Graveside Services for James ""Jim"" Lewis Hayes age 79 of Groves, Texas will be held Friday, December 16, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Jones Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Military Honors provided by VFW Post 8568.

He was born July 14, 1932 in Diboll, Texas the son of Elbert Hayes and Ellen (Riley) Hayes and passed away December 15, 2011 in Groves, Texas.

After graduation Jim entered into the U.S. Marines. After he was discharged from the service he then went and worked in West Texas in the oilfields. He also worked in sales and was an auto salesman in or around Port Arthur, Groves area. He worked in oil refineries and owned and operated a vacuum repair and sales shop in Groves, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Elbert Hayes and Ellen (Riley) Hayes, and his brother, Clayton Lee Hayes of Lufkin, Texas.

Jim is survived by Sons, Eric Hayes of Groves, Texas, and Paul Hayes of Huffman, Texas, Grandchildren, Nicholas Hayes of Louisiana, Gavin Paul Hayes of Huffman, Texas, and Erica Hayes of Groves, Texas, sisters, Mary Hayes Ashby of Bay City, Texas and Gloria Hayes Wise of Lake Jackson, Texas. Numerous Other relatives and friends also survive.
