On Saturday, March 2, 2019, James L. Tipton, a loving husband and father of two children passed away at the age of 61 after a strong battle with cancer.
James (Jimmy) was born in Texas City, Texas to Marjorie and Norris Tipton on July 3, 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mack Tipton; and son, Jim Tipton. Jimmy was a man of few words and loved by all who crossed his path in life. He loved to weld more than anything, to him it wasn't really a job it was a passion. During his free time, he loved to go camping, fishing and hunting and of course hanging out with his pipeline family and friends. Jimmy loved the Lord and his family, something his mother had instilled in him from a young age. He was a traveling man and never met a stranger on the right-a-way. He was lucky to have gotten to work all over: from out in the Gulf on lay barges to numerous different states always to provide for his family.
James is survived by his loving wife of 40 years; Diane Tipton of Livingston; daughter, Daisha Tipton of Livingston; granddaughter, Tessah Tipton of Livingston; grandson, Jonathan Maldonado of Livingston; sister and brother-in-law, Darla and Marcus Redwine of Chester; brother, Autis Ray Tipton of Onalaska; and sisters-in-law, Georgia Crawford and husband, Lynn, and Patricia Powers; along with a host of family and friends that he had met in his wonderful journey of life.
Pallbearers: Autis Ray Tipton, Lynn Crawford, Jimbo Vinson, Boone Hutto, Sam T. Jones, Cole Jones
