James Ray McBroom age 73 of Goodrich passed away April 9, 2010 in Lufkin with his loving wife at his side. Visitation was held for family and friends Sunday April 11, 2010 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

James was born January 31, 1937 in Ripley, Tennessee to parents James Elmer McBroom and Mamie Spray McBroom. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Danny Joe McBroom and James Elmer McBroom. James proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Geneva McBroom of Goodrich, daughter Dempsey McCain and husband Jeff, daughter in law Ida McBroom, sisters Mary Katherine McBroom, Agnes McKelvey, and Regina Branning, brothers Donald Gene McBroom and Frank McBroom. He is also survived by his grandchildren Dna Marie McCain, Nicole McCain, James Ray McBroom II, and his great grandchild Mattie McBroom.
