Obituary
Funeral services for James "Jim" McLendon, 75, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. James Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. McLendon was born October 12, 1938 in Meridian, Mississppi to parents, Hershel Emory McLendon and Clara Ann (Godwin) McLendon, and passed away June 25, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas. He worked during his lifetime as an educator in the school district. He is preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Clarice McLendon; brother, Mike Mathers; special uncle and aunt, Charles and Urbadell Ratcliff.
He is survived by his wife, Judy McLendon of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Joni and Jimmy Wheeland of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Caryn McLendon of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Evan Lambright, Kasey McLendon Crawford and husband Dan, and Kelly Jo McLendon all of Livingston, Texas; special niece, Shelly Phelps Binford and husband Andy of Nacogdoches, Texas; special nephew, Chad Phelps of Gretna Nebraska; special niece, Angie Phelps Schneider and husband Matt of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Susan Mclendon and Rick Hudson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, David McLendon of Livingston, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Jana McLendon of Livingston, Texas; sister, Carol McLendon of Livingston, Texas; brother, Nick Mathers of Seattle, Washington; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Evan Lambright, Paul David McLendon, Aaron McLendon, Ross Wheeland, Wes Wheeland, Dan Crawford.
