Obituary
Funeral services for James Gaston Nelson, 74, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2016 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Nelson was born November 12, 1942 in Livingston, Texas to parents, Gaston "Monk" Nelson and Elsie Mae (Whitaker) Nelson, and passed away on March 10, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, he graduated from Livingston High School in 1961. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Barbara Ann Pierce Brown and Kathy Sue Lane.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Nelson of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Stephanie DuBois and husband, Bubba of Livingston, Texas; son, Gaston Nelson and wife, Denise of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Nelson and Wade Nelson both of Conroe, Texas, Cole Nelson of Atascocita, Texas; Shaun DuBois and Steven DuBois both of Livingston, Texas; great-granddaughters, Kathryn Nelson of Conroe, Texas and Natalie DuBois of Leggett, Texas; sister, Julia Armitage and husband, Harry of Livingston, Texas; brother, Billy Ray Nelson and wife, Lou of Livingston, Texas; and special friends, Arnold and Barbara Oliver, Melinda Martin, and Glynna Davis; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
