Memorial services for James Redd, 69, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Mickey Fothergill officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568.

James Clifford Redd was born February 1, 1948 and passed away January 16, 2018, just short of his 70 ^th birthday. Beloved father to Crystal Lynn Redd of Arkansas, James was known for his "Eyore-wit", lively stories and deadpan sarcasm.

He was preceded in death by his father, Winford Redd and mother, Rachel (Benge) Redd of Onalaska; and sister, Kaytrichia Redd of Livingston. He is survived by his brother, Wendell and sister-in-law, Pam Redd of Plantersville; niece, Patricia; nephew, Shane and wife, Tanya Redd; sister, Deborah and brother-in-law, Warren (Ry) Birge of Richmond; niece, Jessica and husband, Darron Green; nephew, Nathan and Deidre Birge; nephew, Joseph and wife, Khara McCoy of Bryan; and great-nieces and nephews, Landon Green, Aubrey Green, Riley Birge, Josiah McCoy, and Alexandra Redd; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

James attended Aldine High School, Houston, where he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served for 21 years. While in the Air Force, he served in Alaska, California, and Germany. After retirement, James moved to Onalaska where he worked at Walmart for some years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lucky Labs Rescue. James cared deeply for abandoned animals and gave to this dog rescue many times.
