Funeral services for James "Coach" Richardson, 84, will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Menard Chapel Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Richardson was born July 16, 1931 in Livingston, Texas to parents, J.D. Richardson and Mary (Babb) Richardson, and passed away December 10, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. During his lifetime, he coached at Big Sandy ISD, and Gary ISD. He also coached while serving his country in the United States Army. He played in the National Championship Basketball game for Tyler Junior College in 1951. He loved fishing, hunting and farming. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat (Ross) Richardson; son, Danny Richardson; brother, John Wayne Richardson; sisters, Carolyn Richardson and JoAnn Richardson.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Everett Lunsford of Gary, Texas; grandchildren, Angel Burgess and Jimmy, E.J. Lunsford; great grandchildren, Bryan Burgess and James Burgess; God children, Alyssa Thornton, Luke Thornton, Caitlyn Thornton, and Jaymee Thornton; sisters, Marie Martin of Livingston, Texas and Mary Cathey of Port Arthur, Texas; special friends, Mark and Anna Thornton of Gary, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Luke Thornton, Bryan Landreneaux, Jimmy Martin, Michael Martin, Eddie Cathey, Kyle Martin, Levie Cohurst.
