James Kevin Shearon, 68, of Livingston, Texas, was born March 28, 1955 in Houston, Texas to parents Vernon French Smith and Dorothy Bell (LaFoon) Smith and passed away May 22, 2023 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Diane Kelley and Sherry Hutchins.

James graduated from Alvin High School in 1973 and attended Sam Houston State University.  He was a member of the Heights Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas.

In his 68 years with us, he had blessed many, many folks with his presence. He was always someone that could shift the energy in a room or gathering, and with that came him never knowing a stranger. He was so approachable in many ways, and would always let you know what was on his mind whether you wanted to hear it or not. He shared all of his knowledge about anything he could teach, involving the great outdoors, anything with an engine, his many lines of work, family guidance, and being a true patriot. Please remember him for all of the good he did for many of us, as a true friend, protector, and father/grandfather.

James is survived by his son, Clint James Shearon and wife Kelyn of Deer Park, Texas; granddaughter, Greenlea Danae Hunt-Shearon of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandsons, Tyler James Shearon and Colt Douglas Shearon; granddaughter, Kolby Lynn Shearon, all of Deer Park, Texas; sisters, Ronda Cushman of Bullard, Texas and Michelle Alford of Richmond, Texas; and his aunt and uncle who were like parents to him, Rose and Jerry Sturdevant of Rowlett, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
