On May 17, 2025 James Robert Thompson, 54, of Livingston, Texas, lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord.  James was born April 17, 1971 in Baytown, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Thompson and Virginia (Boykin) Thompson.

James is survived by the love of his life for 32 years, Misty Rinehart of Livingston, Texas; son, Joe K. Thompson III and wife Shelby of Rye, Texas; daughters, Chelsea Thompson and Dalton of Huntsville, Texas, Caitlin Thompson of Livingston, Texas and Cheyenne Thompson of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Bayleigh Thompson, Daxton Ingram, James R. Thompson, Landyn Thompson, and Dallas Ingram; brother, Joe K. Thompson Jr. and wife Trudy of Cleveland, Texas; and sister, Judy Decha and husband Steven of Porter, Texas; along with numerous other close family and friends and neighbors who loved him.
