James H. Tucker was born September 26, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Dewey H. Tucker and Cora L. Spencer Tucker. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean Conflict, honoring his country. James met the love of his life and married Barbara Lee on March 22, 1956 in California.

James passed away on August 21, 2013 at his home in Livingston. He is preceded in death by two sons, James Calvin Tucker and Richard Wayne Tucker; his parents, Dewey and Cora Tucker; five sisters, three brothers, one granddaughter, Adrian M. Bowling, one son-in-law, Robert D. Schlageter, numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara Lee Tucker of Livingston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and John Avery of Jasper, Texas, Ellen and Doug Frankie of Spring, Texas, Debbie and Bill Bowling of Lufkin, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Beverly Tucker of Evergreen, Texas, James D. and Tonya Tucker of Livingston, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one g-g grandchild; and sister, Linda Sue Vaughn and husband, Bobby Joe of Conroe, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Craig Tucker Stewart will conduct the services. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post # 8568 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Kristian Tucker, Michael Lybrand, Munro Tucker, Charles Harp, Charles Allen Steward, and Kenneth Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the grandchildren. Interment will be held at Camp Ruby Cemetery in Polk County, following the chapel service.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel
