James Morris Turner, age 66, was born December 7, 1944 to Dorothy Hathaway Turner and Morris Turner in Livingston, Polk County Texas. He passed away on January 27, 2011 in Kingwood, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be Saturday January 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Robert Smith and Bro. Don Goodwin officiating. Interment to follow in the Restland Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Pallbearers are Brian Turner, Braden Turner, Freddy Duff, Charles Wheeler, Randy Walters, and Johnny Thornton.
James was raised in Livingston, graduated from Livingston High School and attended Sam Houston State University. James served on the Houston Police Department and he was self-employed for many years with ""Cowboy Creations.""
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Turner of Livingston; son, John Turner and wife, Naureen of Houston; daughter, Melisa (Missy) Chapman and husband, Beauford of Leggett, and grandchildren, Alyssa Chapman and Adriana Chapman of Leggett. He is also survived by a brother, Ronney Turner and wife, Mitzi of Livingston; niece, Rhonda Turner of Sugarland; nephews, Brian Turner and wife, Alex of Houston, and Braden Turner of Sugarland; and a very special friend, Barbara Clarke. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
