James Alan Vanderhider 54 of Lake Jackson passed away Sunday June 15, 2008 in Houston. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Concord Baptist Church in Rye with Rev. Edwin Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Rye as well. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM Wednesday June 18, 2008 at church.

James was born January 13, 1954 in Liberty, to parents James H. Vanderhider and Ora Gertrude Reed Vanderhider.

He is preceded in death by his James H. Vanderhider, mother in law Estelle Lambright Manshack, and sister in law Sylvia Ann Manshack.

James is survived by his wife of 30 years Kathy Manshack Vanderhider of Lake Jackson, son Zac Vanderhinder, and daughter Ali Vanderhider both of Lake Jackson. He is also survived by his mother Gertie Vanderhider of Abilene, sister and brother in law Carole and Larry Keddie, brothers R.L. Manshack of Rye, Dee Manshack of Clark, sisters and brother in laws Wanda and Bill Ericson of Lake Jackson, Joanie and Joe Lowe of Rye, and father in law Amos Manshack of Romayor, brother and sister in law Carl Reed and Cherry Vanderhider.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Pinkerton, Bryan Ericson, R.L. Manshack, Dee Manshack, Dee Manshack Jr., Joe Lowe, Joe Manning Jr., and Bill Ericson.
