Obituary
Memorial services for James Lee Watkins, of Livingston, TX, will be at the First United Methodist Church of Livingston, TX on Saturday November 1st 2014 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that everyone please make contributions in memory of Jim to the charity of your choice.
James Watkins was born on November 20th 1945 in Staten Island, NY. He grew up, married and started his family in New Mexico. He served in the Navy and was stationed in Miramar, CA. Jim moved his young family to Livingston, TX in 1978 where he worked for George Mitchell in the oil field for over 20 years. Jim was very active in his FUMC Livingston church, volunteering in numerous charitable areas. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and friend to all he met. Jim was blessed to have passed away peacefully high on a mountain in the Gila National Forest hunting and camping with his brother and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love and faith to his family and all that loved him.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Elvis Lee (Pete) Watkins and May Rose Ducatelli Watkins of Vanderwagen, NM. And his younger brother Jessie Gene Watkins of Thoreau, NM.
Jim is survived by his wife Genny V. Cruz Watkins, of Livingston TX, daughter and son in law- Cecilee Ann and Mike Reeves of Livingston TX, son- Wesley Scott Watkins of Livingston TX, daughter and son in law- Shelly Elizabeth and Brian Marquis of Monroe, North Carolina. Grandchildren- Staff Sergeant Marshall Ray Reeves of Fort Johnson, NY, Jenna Eve Reeves of Livingston TX, and Nathan Lee Watkins of Houston, TX. Brother and sister in law- Eddy Van and Carolie Watkins of Vanderwagan, NM. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
