Funeral services for Janie Powell, 81, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pine Forest Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Sean Ferry officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas.

Mrs. Powell was born September 10, 1936 in Benton, Arkansas to parents, William Hubert Ballard and Ruby Gerine (Callison) Ballard, and passed away October 8, 2017 in The Woodlands, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Clement; and granddaughter, Bree Davidson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Powell of Onalaska, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kelly Clement of Humble, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Philip "Chip" and Karen Clement of Katy, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bob Guthrie of Tomball, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Craig Davidson of Vero Beach, Florida; daughter, Debbie Powell of Vero Beach, Florida; sister, Margaret Nitcholas of Onalaska, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Grace Ballard of Onalaska, Texas; and grandchildren, Kristi and Cody Knight, Michele and Michael Nicol, Nathan Guthrie, Nathan Davidson, Trey Grim, Zachary McKenzie, Brandi Clement, Blake Clement, Cody Clement, and Candice and Dane Blakeley; along with numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
