Funeral services for Jennie Lee Thompson, 74, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Sister Carla Busby officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Thompson was born May 16, 1946 in Livingston, Texas to parents, Folsom David Poncho and Taia (John) Poncho, and passed away April 10, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. During her life, Mrs. Thompson worked at the Alabama-Coushatta Day Care Center for many many years until she retired in 2020. A few months after her retirement, she started working part-time at the Senior Citizens Center until her retirement on March 18, 2021. She served as a Deacon at the Indian Presbyterian Church as well as a moderator and vice moderator for the women of the church. She was a gospel singer with the Poncho Family along with her brothers and sisters. Mrs. Thompson was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her family is really going to miss her, but they know that she is in good hands with God. Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Thompson; and brothers, Chap Cain Poncho, Robert Poncho, Needham Poncho, and Marion Snider Poncho.

She is survived by her sons, Stewart Poncho and wife, Jessica, Richard Thompson, and Marcus Thompson all of the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation; brother, Elwin Poncho of Spurger; sisters, Ruthie Padilla and Lenora Williams both of the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation; granddaughters, Shailen Seahmer, Savanna Poncho, Shanaya Poncho, Aubrei Thompson, Coryn Thompson, and Brandy Thompson; and grandson, Isaiah Thompson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
