Funeral services for Jerry Maxey, 85, of Corrigan, Texas, will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Lonnie Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.  Visitation will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas.

Mr. Maxey was born September 3, 1935 in Corrigan, Texas to parents, John Preston Maxey and Eunice Wilma (Broaddus) Maxey, and passed away on May 4, 2021 in Corrigan, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou Black; and brother, John Walter Maxey.

He is survived by his wife, Ellender Maxey of Corrigan, Texas; daughter, Nancy Shughart and Dale of Napa, Idaho; daughter, Mary Shepherd and Don of Corrigan, Texas; daughter, Sue Loving and Keith of Corrigan, Texas; daughter, Martha Duff and Darrell of Corrigan, Texas; grandsons, Chris Callas, Nick Callas, Jere Callas and Jennifer, Sam Shepherd and Heather, D.J. Shepherd, Kyle Shepherd, Seth Loving and Jyma, and Will Loving and Jessica; granddaughter, Laura Bullard and Chris; brother, Sammy Austin Maxey and Anita of Corrigan, Texas; numerous great children and families; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Maxey will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers: Seth Loving, Chris Callas, Jere Callas, D.J. Shepherd, Kyle Shepherd, Will Loving, and Nick Callas.
