Obituary
Funeral services for Jerry Robert McBee, 92, of Victoria, Texas formerly of Point Blank, Texas, will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, Texas. Interment will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Jerry Robert McBee, 92, of Victoria, TX formerly of Point Blank, TX passed away from this life & went to be with his heavenly Father on February 28, 2016.
Jerry was born in Garner, Arkansas to Tolbert & Nettie McBee on November 26, 1923. He was the youngest of 6 siblings, all of whom have preceded him in death.
He served in the US Navy on the USS Pennsylvania during WW II. He was stationed in the Philippine Theatre. He was a 32nd degree Mason earlier in his life. He served at both Fairbanks Baptist Church & Point Blank Community Church as a deacon for many years. He loved playing his guitar & singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed going & singing with a group at nursing homes for many years & entertaining the elderly.
Jerry was an avid camper & fisherman! There was he loved better than cooking his famous catfish for friends & family.
More than anything he loved & cherished his wife & bride of more than 70 years, Arlene McBee, who survives him.
He is also survived by one son, Mike McBee & his fiancée, Tammye Sugarek of Victoria, TX. One daughter, Lynn McFadden, & husband, Wes McFadden, of Galveston, TX. 10 Grandchildren: Mike (Pattie) Nail, Chris (Chrissy) Nail, Meghan (Ronnie) Felts, Cade (Elizabeth) McBee, Kandice McFadden, Chip LeBlanc, Stacey (Alvin) Breaux, Cody (Shelley) LeBlanc, Sarah Sugarek, and Blake Sugarek and 12 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Alzhiemers Foundation or The Alzhiemers Association
