He attended Livingston High school and join the Marine Corp in September 22, 1958 and while serving at Camp Pendleton California became the youngest Staff Sgt. on base. He was a true American and dedicated to the Marine Corp. He married his wife of 54 years while stationed at MCRD San Diego, California. He left the Marine Corp in 1967 after his last tour in Vietnam. With his family, he moved to Corpus Christi and went to work for Sun Oil Company in 1967. He worked off-shore for ORYX Energy until he retired in 1995. His hobby for years was Taekwondo, and while living in Corpus Christi he earned his fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo.
