Obituary
Funeral services for Jimmy Dean Harris, Sr., 81, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Brett Lester and Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post# 8568. Interment will follow at the Bold Springs Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Harris was born July 30, 1933 in El Dorado, Arkansas, to parents, William Lester Harris and Ola Frances (Cary) Harris, and passed away February 2, 2015 in The Woodlands, Texas. During his life, he received his Masters degree in 1970 from Sam Houston State University and taught school for a total of 45 years; 43 of which were in the Houston Independent School District. Jimmy was also a member of the Ball High Lunch Bunch and a past player of Ball High Tors. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth L. Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Harris of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Holly Phillips and David of Livingston, Texas; son, Jimmy D. Harris, Jr. and Belinda of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Gretchen Harris, David Eric Phillips, Heidi Harris, Jimmy D. Harris, III., Derek Alan Phillips; great-grandchildren, Cade Bryant Randolph and Daisy Marie Harris; sister, Ann Freeman and Bobby; sister-in-law, Eva Harris; brother-in-law, Frank O' Neill; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Derek Phillips, David Phillips, Jimmy Harris, III., Blake Deason, William Harris, Joseph Harris.
