Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Smith, 82, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow at the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Jimmy Ray Smith was born July 28, 1936 in Goodrich, Texas to parents, Rafe Henry and Lula Vera (Henderson) Smith, and passed away November 16, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsie May Smith; children, Barbara Ann Nelson Brown, James Gaston Nelson and Kathy Sue Nelson Parrish; sisters, Maudelle Atchley, Carolyn Ann Gaston, Frances Puckett, Lucille Diamond, Alma Burchfield and Elsie Belcher; brothers, Jack Smith, Henry Clay Smith, Haskell Smith Hubert Smith, Vester McBride and Lee Douglas Acuff.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Julia Armitage and Harry; son Billy Ray Nelson and Margie; sister, Norma Jean Hancock, all of Livingston, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Dwayne Vickery, Caden Vickery, Brandy Vickery, Raymond Smith, Joe Smith, Buddy Smith and Robert Smith.
