Graveside services for JL Schanfish, 93, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Oates Cemetery in Leggett, Texas with Kevin Basham officiating.

Mr. Schanfish was born October 12, 1924 in Fouke, Arkansas, and passed away January 3, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mazell Ashlock Schanfish; brothers, Dudley Schanfish, Vernon O. Schanfish, and Anzie Schanfish; and sister, Verna Schanfish Young.

He is survived by his son, Jerry L. Schanfish of Apple Springs, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Ronald Ponder of Lake Jackson, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda L. and Gary Basham of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Betty L. Bagley of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and John Jones of Livingston, Texas; son, Danny L. Schanfish of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Donna L. and Wiley Meadows of Leggett, Texas; 17 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family gives special thanks and gratitude to the Timberwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center family who loved and cared for him.
