David Joe Crocker born February 24, 1962 in Sterling, Illinois to Loyd D. Crocker and Betty Lou (Eads) Crocker. He went to his heavenly home early Wednesday morning July 20, 2022, after a short courageous battle with lung cancer, at the home of his devoted daughter Cadi in Conroe, Texas.
Joe, as he was known to his friends, graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1980 in Prophetstown, Illinois. He worked as a machinist until he became disabled in 2005 after his second back surgery.

On February 20, 2011 he was licensed and ordained to preach the gospel by Bishop Eldridge Nickson. He and his wife Valerie were certified by the State of Texas to work with prisoners in the Chapancay Menter/Mantee Progrom from 2009 - 2013. They served at the Eastham, the Walls, and Polunsky units for 3 1/2 years, having to stop because of back issues.
Joe was a very kind and giving person and always shared the Word of God with everyone he met, friend or stranger.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Betty Crocker; and mother-in-law, Janie Morgan.
