Obituary
Funeral services for David Grimes age 76 of Livingston, Texas were held Monday, April 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Bruce Baker and Bro. Stonewall Jackson officiating. Interment followed in the Bold Springs cemetery in Livingston. Visitation was Sunday from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM. Pallbearers were Kolt Grimes, Garron Fleetwood, Stan Galloway, Mark Meuck, Dakoda Hernandez, Danny Osborn, Christian Johnson, Joe LeBlanc, and Scott Galloway.
He was born October 5, 1934 in Crockett, Texas the son of Fred Grimes and Mattie Williamson Grimes and passed away April 8, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Grimes and Mattie Williamson Grimes, brother, Billy Fred Grimes.
David married his best friend Doris Jean Harris Grimes on February 4, 1956 in the first Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. They have spent many wonderful years together and have had three beautiful children. He was part owner of the sawmill Grimes and Son in Goodrich, Texas, owner of Grimes T. E. Mill in Centerville, Texas, manager of Board Road Sawmill, South Louisiana Contractors in Batson, Texas. He served as assistant Regional manager of South Louisiana Contractors in Houston, Texas. He worked with Bayou City Industries were he served as supervisor in the environmental field. He was later the Sr. Project manager of the waste management environmental and the USA environmental.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Grimes, son, David Lynn Grimes, son and daughter in law, Reggie and Tammy Grimes, daughter and son in law, Lisa and Billy Heath, grandsons, Garron Fleetwood and wife Sharee, Dakoda Hernandez and wife Amanda, Kolt Grimes, granddaughters, Tiffany and husband Christian Johnson, Precilla and husband Danny Osborn, Kindsay and husband Wanderson Leite, Stormie Grimes, Chantzie Grimes, 9great grandchildren, Alexia, Gracie, Gloria, Ethan, Ashton, Isaiah, Leda, Chris, Zach, sisters, Connie Walker and Betty Patterson. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
