Funeral services for Joe D. Heard, Jr., age 83 of Onalaska, Texas will be held Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas with Bro. Pete Vandver officiating and interment will be in the Omaha City Cemetery Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Omaha, Texas.

He was born June 5, 1927 in Daingerfield, Texas the son of Joe Heard, Sr., and Ophelia Powell Heard and passed away May 27, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Wendall Heard and James Lloyd Heard.

He is survived by Thelma Heard, wife of Onalaska, Texas, Jim & Deborah Heard, son and daughter in law of Tarkington, Texas, Tim Heard, son of Tarkington, Texas, Suzy Morgan, daughter of Tarkington, Nancy Jo Heard, daughter of Highlands, Texas, Helen & Tuck Charles, sister and brother in law of New Boston, Texas, Ann McDonough, sister of Houston, William & Tina Heard, brother and sister in law of Stigler, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Kami Whitten, Clay Heard, Stephanie Vandver, J.D. Heard, Stacy Vandver, and Lindsey Morgan, great grandchildren: Paige Heard, Cheyanne Heard, Mattie Vandver, Emily Vandver, Ethan Vandver, Hailey Heard, Jaxon Vandver, Claire Vandver and Colton Heard.
