John Meredith Brecheen, Sr., age 86 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was born in Liverpool, Louisiana on May 19, 1927 to parents, Hollis J. Brecheen and Daisy McGehee Brecheen.
Mr. Brecheen served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked for Brown & Root as a welder.
Mr. Brecheen is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Meredith Brecheen, Jr.; daughter, Joyce Darlene Brecheen; three brothers, Dallas Brecheen, Andrew Brecheen and Gerald Brecheen; and sister, Stella Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Loueise Brecheen of Livingston, Texas; children, Sandra and Mark Mullins, daughter and son-in-law of Trinity, Texas, Renee and David Langehenning, daughter and son-in-law of Purnela, Texas, Bill and Crysta Brecheen, son and daughter-in-law of Pollok, Texas, David Joe and Judy Sanders, son and daughter-in-law of Friendswood, Texas, Shirley and Jim McBreen, daughter and son-in-law of Phoenix, Arizona, Eva Sanders, daughter of Livingston, Texas, Michael Kincaid, son of Houston, Texas; siblings, Neville and Doni Brecheen of Livingston, Texas, James and Sharon Brecheen of Livingston, Texas, Jesse and Shirley Brecheen of Onalaska, Texas, Dorothy and Lewis Sullivan of Louisiana; grandchildren, Robert Bordelon, Kristy Mullins, Cory Mullins, Willie Langehenning, David Langehenning, Tommy Langehenning, Michael Langehennig, Brad Holcombe, Misty Matthews, Tony Brecheen, Brett Brecheen, Jeremiah Brecheen, Cheyenne Maloy, Tina Brecheen, Tommy John Brecheen, Everett Higginbotham, Samantha Johnson, David Joe Sanders, Jr., Amy Zavesky, Josh Fleet, Johnny Fleet, Bobby Hill, Angel White; and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Roger Gregg will conduct the services. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard. He will be escorted to Bold Spring Cemetery in Livingston, Texas, for interment following the chapel service by pallbearers, Cory Mullins, Willie Langehennig, Brad Holcombe, Tim Matthews, Tony Brecheen, Cole Maloy and Michael Langehennig. Honorary pallbearers are VFW Post #8568 members.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
