Funeral services for John Edgar Brown, 76, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs and Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

John Edgar Brown was born on April 26, 1943 to parents, Buster and Opal Jewel Brown. He passed away August 23, 2019 at his home in Livingston, Texas. He is survived by his brother, James Brown; sons, Lloyd Brown and wife, Kelly, and Gary Brown; daughter, Laurie Brown and wife, Marginetta; grandchildren, Shawn, Erica, Anthony, Andrew, and Bryan; great-grandchildren, Graci, Morgan, and Brooklyn; and sister-in-law, Judy Boatright. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; son, John Robert; grandsons, Joshua and Aaron; brother, Tommy Brown; and sister, Opal Jewel Brown King. During his life, he worked for the Texas Highway Department for over 30 years. He was a member of the Trinity Masonic Lodge and a Deacon at Leggett Baptist Church.
