Funeral services for John Charles "J.C." Fenter, 94, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, June 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Lindell Mitchell officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, 2020 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., before the service begins.
Mr. Fenter was born March 25, 1926 in Delight, Arkansas, to parents, Rupert Fenter and Anna (Young) Fenter, and passed from this earth on June 10, 2020, in Livingston, Texas, with his family by his side. He began working in the logging and saw mills at a young age. J.C. met his wife of 75 years at the age of 12 and they were married December 23, 1945. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He worked in the oil field in Mississippi and Texas and continued in the oil industry as a project manager for Brown and Root until retirement at the age of 62. He was a true Christian man who spent his life as a servant of his Lord. J.C. is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Alsubrook, granddaughter, Charlene Fenter, and son-in-law, John Ohm.
He is survived by his wife, Dessel Mae Fenter; daughter, Linda Ohm; son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. and Connie Fenter; grandchildren, Wendy Ohm, Amber N. Hill and husband Jon, Jessica Templeman and husband Shayne, and Brandy Rosales; great grandchildren, Ashley May and husband James May III, and Brandon Williams; great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh Wheeler, James May IV, A'Zareya May, Rudie May, Zoe May, Brancie Williams, Sedon Williams, Ein, Evan, Ryan and Faith; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Livingston Church of Christ, 1107 W. Church St., Livingston, Texas 77351.
