Graveside services for John Henry Downs, Sr., 86, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Ace Community Cemetery in Ace, Texas.

Mr. Downs was born June 23, 1937 in Carrollton, Mississippi and passed away January 18, 2024 in Baytown, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle (Gordon) Downs; brothers, Malcolm Downs, of Carrollton, Mississippi, Jimmie Downs, of Sidon, Mississippi, W. H. Downs, of Carrollton, Mississippi, Bluford Downs, of Houston, Texas, Sonny Downs, of Vaiden, Mississippi, Billy Downs, of Baytown, Texas; and sisters, Nellie Austin, of Winona, Mississippi and Pearlie Hood, of Grenada, Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Downs of Livingston, Texas; children, Debbie and Buster Thain, of Baytown, Texas, John Jr. and Angela Downs, of Baytown, Texas, Brenda and Ken Beauchamp, of Cove, Texas, Mike and Abby Downs, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jana and Mike Schneiderman, of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren, Jared and Sherry Munson, of Cove, Texas, Ashley Munson and JJ Jacobs, of Cove, Texas, Courtney and Russel Roberts, of Crowley, Texas, Halea Downs, of Baytown, Texas, Amanda & Christopher Wurzbach, of Houston, Texas, Briana and Clint Saunders, of Cove, Texas, Madeline Downs and Jacory Wright, of Baytown, Texas, Bethany Downs, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kayla Schneiderman and Michael Underwood, of Baytown, Texas, Ryan Downs, of Santa Ana, California, Hannah Downs and Jeff Watkins, of Baytown, Texas, Hunter Downs, of Baytown, Texas, and Krista Schneiderman, of Baytown, Texas; 17 great grandchildren; and sisters, Dot Cox of Greenwood, Mississippi and Sue Anthony of Senatobia, Mississippi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
