Funeral services for John Allen Hensley Jr., 80, of Onalaska, Texas will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Pastor Dennis Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Hensley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas.

Mr. Hensley was born September 17, 1938 in Livingston, Texas to parents, John Allen Hensley and Bessie Mae (Sprayberry) Hensley, and passed away August 2, 2019 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 60 years, Pearline Hensley; brother, Robert Mitchell Hensley; and son-in-law, Truitt Sutton. During his life, John was one of the earliest members of the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Underferth and husband, Duane of Livingston, Texas, Barbara Sutton of Dayton, Texas, and Carmen Campfield and husband, Kurt of Pennsylvania; son, John Hensley III and wife, Cindy of Pennsylvania; daughters, Twila Cargle and husband, Travis of Trinity, Texas, and Jamie  Rohrbach and husband, Jeff of Pennsylvania; sons, Martin Hensley and wife, Erin, of Pennsylvania, Mitchell Hensley and wife, Tracey, of Pennsylvania, and James Stewart also of Pennsylvania; son, Jonathan Stewart of Onalaska, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Marsh and husband, George, Maggie Bankston and husband, Doug, and Mary Marsh and husband, Don; brothers, David Hensley and wife, Bonnie, Larry Hensley and wife, Shirley, and Tom Hensley; and sisters, Gay Ann Buller and husband, Allen, Cynthia Lowery and husband, Roger, and Lisa Green; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
