Funeral services for John Dee Mayhew, 70, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Gene Summers officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas.

Mr. Mayhew was born June 29, 1945 in Logan, West Virginia, to parents, John David Mayhew and Elva Merle (Pavley) Mayhew, and passed away March 3, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Homer L. Mayhew, Larry E. Mayhew, George Mayhew, and Carey Neil Mayhew.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Mayhew of Onalaska, Texas; sons, Jacob Dean Mayhew of Onalaska, Texas and John D. Mayhew of Virginia; daughters, Kimberly Mayhew of Virginia, Brittany Mayhew of Onalaska, Texas, Jessica Mayhew of Onalaska, Texas, and Cindy Vergara of Onalaska, Texas; granddaughter, Krista Vergara of Onalaska, Texas; grandsons, Gavin and Carson of Virginia; sisters, Linda Stagner of Victoria, Texas and Debbie Napier; brothers, Dexter D. Mayhew and Margie, James A. Mayhew, and David Lee Mayhew; and numerous other relatives and friends.
