Funeral services for John Edward McDowell, 78, of Livingston, Texas will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Byron Lyons officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

John was born December 5, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and passed away July 18, 2024 in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl McDowell and Anna Mae (Furphy) McDowell; and brother, Frank Pozzi.

He is survived by his sons, John McDowell, Jr. and wife Lori of Alvin, Texas, James McDowell and wife Tammy of Humble, Texas, and Frederick McDowell and wife Brenda of Deer Park, Texas; sisters, Ann Brown and husband Rick of New Jersey, Karen Skaggs and husband Mark of Clearwater, Florida, and Susette Fuchs of New Jersey; brothers, Fred McDowell and Clifford McDowell, both of Waco, Texas; sisters, Dorothy McDowell and Ramona McDowell, both of Waco, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives
